What is the size of your Email Append Database?
Our database contains approximately 300 million+ records. In addition we have an extensive network of trustworthy, carefully vetted partners whom we can coordinate additional passes with to maximize match rates.

How have you built your database?  What type of sources?
Our Email Append Database is compiled from self-reported consumer information from an extensive network of web site sources including:

Permission Based Websites
Our data comes from some of the most active permission-based websites on the Internet. These include newsletter and content delivery sites, contest & sweepstake sites, and sites that provide discounts and money-saving information. We only utilize sites that are attracting consumers that are over the age of 18. During the registration process, subscribers input their personal information. All of the Internet properties have a privacy policy that clearly states how the information provided can be used.

• Online and Offline Survey Data
Many consumers fill out market research and product registration surveys both online and offline. This self-reported information is one of the primary sources of demographic and lifestyle information in our proprietary consumer database. Email addresses provided by consumers who fill out these surveys are also utilized in our Email Append Service.
Email Addresses are Multi-sourced and Verified
When it comes to data integrity and quality, no other provider matches Infogroup’s proprietary compilation, verification and data quality processing. We partner with hundreds of select data providers to collect relevant information and combine each source into one comprehensive, valuable data asset. Infogroup also invests more than $20 million annually to ensure data quality, making more than 25 million calls annually to verify various data points. Our data includes permission-based email addresses utilized in our Email Append Service, providing you with the highest quality data. Since this is information compiled by Infogroup, no other company can provide this data to you.

How often is your Email Append database updated?
As with all other Infogroup Media Solutions databases, the Email Append database is completely rebuilt every four weeks. During this rebuild, the following actions are taken:
• New email records are added to the file.
• Records confirmed as undeliverable are flagged and no longer used for Email Append processing. They are retained for our Email Change of Address and Global Suppression processing.
• Postal Addresses are updated. Address history is retained in order to match records where our client may not have a current postal address for a customer.
• Records are linked in order to append demographic and lifestyle information.

What type of matching logic do you use?
Our primary matching logic is to provide an Individual Level match, which utilizes the first name & postal address. If a match is found, that email is appended, along with a code to show that a match was found using individual match logic.

If a match is not located at the Individual Level, we have the ability to match at the Household Level, which utilizes the last name & full postal address fields to determine a match. If a match is found using this logic, the email is appended, along with a code to show that a match was located using household match logic. The appending of match level codes will allow you to identify which logic was used, and may be useful as a targeting tool for specific campaigns. Estimated B2B & B2C match rates are from 10-20%.

Your service includes the broadcast of a “First Contact” message.” Who provides that message?
This email message, which will carry your company branding, is an email that we are broadcasting to your customers on your behalf. You provide the HTML content of the email. If you do not have a creative development team, we can assist you with the creation of this message.

Can we send a promotional email instead of a first contact message?
We feel that this first email should be more of an introduction to online communications including some type of soft offer as a “thank you” from the marketer for continuing to receive messaging via email. Our clients have had much success including a special offer or promotion like a discount off a current/future orders or free shipping.
Since this is the first time you are talking to these customers via email, the content of the first contact message should state what type of information you want to send them via email, an incentive to entice response, and you must reinforce the relationship between marketer and recipient.

Can you update our file of invalid email addresses with a current email address?
Yes. This is called our Email Update Service. We can take your file of bounced and/or non-responsive email addresses, and attempt to append a unique updated email address to your file. The rate for this service is based on the input volume, but you will be invoiced for the deliverable emails after our first contact message deployment.

What are we charged for?
After the completion of the first contact deployment, we remove any undeliverable email addresses, and segregate the list of your customers that requested to be removed (opt-outs). You are only charged for the matched deliverable records we deliver after completion of our full process. You will not be charged for any emails that were appended, but were not successfully delivered the first contact email, nor will you be charged for opt outs.

Can I send you my whole file to determine the match rate?
Yes, from time to time we do process files to determine a match rate. This free match test would not include the broadcast of the first contact message or any return of data to you.
Another option…If you are working with a budget, we can process your entire file and only deliver and bill you for the quantity in your initial budget. This will allow you to determine the overall match rate for your entire customer file, and determine the amount required when you want to come back to purchase all the remaining customer records. We typically base the rate on the amount of your budget, since you may not be purchasing all match records.
Is your Email Append Service in compliance with CAN-SPAM?
With the passage of the new CAN-SPAM Law on December 16th, 2003, it is very important that you utilize a service provider that fully understands how this law affects you. Infogroup Media Solutions is a leading provider of online marketing and is in compliance with this law.

Accuracy of matching

All of our processing within Infogroup is run on our state-of-the-art platforms. We perform database matching for many Fortune 500 companies. These companies rely on Infogroup Media Solutions for data processing and enhancement that requires extremely accurate matching.
The match algorithms used in our Email Append program are the same ones that are also used for enhancing databases from financial institutions, insurance companies and marketers that not only have to answer to their customers, but also have to make sure that their processing is accurate because of federal legislation. Some of the most stringent privacy laws impact our financial and healthcare providers... our programs meet their requirements.
We allow our clients to select Individual Only matching (uses first name, last name & postal address) or Individual & Household matching (if Individual match is not available, a match using last name & postal address can be selected). We do NOT offer Address Only matching (matches found with no name components included). Infogroup also has the ability to append email addresses based on permission recency.

Permission-Based Email Database
All records utilized in our Append Services are completely permission-based. We have an extensive review process that every provider of data must complete. Only after our team has completely tested the data and reviewed all the relevant privacy policies is their data brought into our Email Append database.

We can manage multiple passes
Many other providers also use our services. As a result, we have great relationships within the industry. Our clients are able to leverage our expertise because we manage multiple passes with our partners. This will not only result in more matched customer records, but you will only need to sign one agreement, will only receive one invoice, and will have only one point of contact. Our process will save you time... and as the old saying goes, "time is money".

Additional hygiene prior to broadcast of the first contact email message
Once all vendors have completed processing, all of the matched records are returned to us for merge/purge. As part of the merge, we process all vendors’ matches through our internal suppression database. This will remove any records (from all vendors) that are undeliverable or are records that should not receive the first contact email broadcast. Infogroup Solutions’ internal suppression file contains:

• Bounces – Emails already known to be undeliverable.
• Complainers – Any individual that has complained or pressed any type of automated complaint button is suppressed from the matched file.
• Opt-outs – Any individual that has opted-out from any prior WKI Append project.
• DMA Do-Not-Email file – Any individual that has registered for the DMA's Do-Not-Email registry.

Additionally, Infogroup Media Solutions processes all match files through an extensive email hygiene process which includes email verification, IP address hygiene and removal of suspected dangerous records.
By running the file through these additional steps, we're able to make sure that not only are we returning the cleanest records possible to our clients, we are protecting their sender reputation throughout the entire process.

Dedicated First Contact Email Delivery platform
Our process also includes the broadcast of the first contact email. Our delivery platform is specifically set up to handle the special requirements of an initial first contact email. By using a dedicated system for our first contact emails, we're able to achieve the best delivery results and will make sure that we're able to determine if the appended email is valid (i.e., not returned as a bounce). We're also able to make sure that recipients are able to view the first contact email and opt-out if they wish.

We can add other demographic selects
We have a consumer database containing information on over 200 million US Consumers. This database is complete with over 700 variables that can be added to your customer file to improve your targeting. You can choose 3 demographic selects and have them appended to your matched records at no charge.
